Support Archbishop Porteous

Tasmania's Anti-discrimination  Commissioner is currently considering a complaint against  Archbishop Porteous for the publication of the booklet "Don't mess with marriage: a pastoral letter from the Catholic Bishops of Australia to all Australians on the same-sex marriage debate".

The Australian Christian Lobby have organised a petition - please go to their web site and access the petition located on the right side of the Home page.

Mark Brown, Director of ACL Tasmania quite rightly points out "if the claim against His Grace is upheld it could set a dangerous precedent against the proclamation of biblical truth in Tasmania."

Novena of Prayer

CWL Tas. members are asked to join in a novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary to intercede against any harmful influences of the upcoming festival Dark Mofo.

The festival has its roots in the pagan winter solstice rites.  It begins on 12th June and continues until 22nd June and promises to be “weirder and darker” this year.  In 2013, in advertising this “debauchery”, Dark Faux Mo presented an image of a naked woman with a hood covering her head - reminiscent of the hoods used in Iraq during the torturing of prisoners.

In its promotion of the festival last year RACT, a sponsor, stated that there would be “more after-hours debauchery at Dark Faux Mo” (‘Journeys’  - June/July 2014).

As a Catholic how do you particpate in a novena...

United States Lawyer, Catherine Glenn Foster Esq, will be presenting a session on euthanasia and assisted suicide on Tuesday 26th May 7:30pm 9:00pm @ St Francis Xavier Hall. Entry by donation

Sponsored by the Office of Life, Marriage and Family,  see the Archdiocese of Hobart's web stite for more information on Catherine's presentation.
